The Sadness of Animals

This book contains my three published pamphlets in their entirety (minus Riccardo Held and Monica Pavan's excellent Italian versions in After Fra Angelico) plus a number of poems and translations written for the most part over the last three years. I take this opportunity of thanking Danni Antonello of La Spia Editorice and Nicholas Murray of the Rack Press for their faith in me.

Some of these piems have appeared the The Bow-Wow Shop (UK), Able Muse (US) and Tratti (Italy), and translations in the anthologies Under Trange Sail (Barbarian Press, Mission, Canada) and Through Corridors of Light (Lion Hudson, Oxford).

A substantial part of this collection, under the title "Suburban Perseids', was shortlisted for the 2011 Anthony Hecht Prize.
